The Burbo Bank offshore wind farm has been operating since 2007. It has the capacity to generate enough electricity to meet the annual consumption of up to 80,000 UK homes. According to ABB, this will be the first time for an offshore wind park to integrate such a storage system in order to stabilise the frequency of the grid in the UK.
